Tough Love.

My posting has been sporadic lately as I have been struggling with myself over which way to go.

I have brought up my Grandson since he was a baby. He was diagnosed with ADHD when he was seven years old and has always been a challenge.

We have had some wonderful experiences as he is a talented dancer and has appeared in many Ballet productions over the years and has even danced in Londons' West end.

As he has moved into adulthood he seems to have lost his way and has been very difficult to live with.

It's heartbreaking to watch someone you love very much as they make decisions that hold them back so I have had to give some .........
I am both sad and at the same time it's great not to feel stressed all the time. I can't believe I've done it, it's taken alot of heartache to get here.

I have been supported by my blogging which has sent me to visit you all. Your comments have given me strength without you even knowing so I thank you all.

It's a new start for my Grandson and a new start for me, I'm in the process of making some changes so watch this space.

xox Angela.

Dear Angela,
I'm so sorry to hear that this has happened. It breaks my heart. You see, I can have empathy for you and your grandson because I have a son that is the same way. My son is very smart and very talented (musician). Of all of my children-he was the most affectionate and giving. But I had to play tough love too and I think it hurts me more than it does him.
He is going to be 31 and last year I finally said enough is enough. Tough Love-is exactly what it is...tough! There is a lot people don't realize about ADHD, as the child grows up-it's even harder for them to cope and for others!
Praying for you and your Grandson, dear.
Comforting hugs sent to you,
Sonya

Dear Angela, I'm very sorry! That must have been the hardest decision for you but it sounds like it was necessary to get him back on track and to get some stress relief for yourself. I wish both of you all the best!
Warm wishes and hugs to you,
Julia

Hi Angela, I think they call it tough love because it is tough on the person making the decision but when that decision making process is done with love, it usually turns out to be the right one. Sometimes it is easy to help so much that we become enablers. Everyone has to find their own path in life and I am sure you have given him the tools to do just that. Sending hugs your way. Best wishes, Tammy
